Another rainy night in Gotham which means no Yankees on tv tonight

I don’t watch that much baseball, actually none, except during the playoffs. I had had it my mind that I’d tune in tonight and have the game on in the background as I wrote, but now that my plan has been thwarted I think I’ll just write and then read. I did venture out earlier and bought myself a treat – an apple fritter. Oh…baby. I made myself a coffee then cut off about a 1/3 of the pastry, turned on some SpongeBob, and just enjoyed the moment (yeah, my Saturday nights are THAT exciting). There’s a temptation to go tear off another piece, but that way lies madness! I shall resist and save it for tomorrow.

You’re turning into a wild man. Writing and an apple fritter, and SpongeBob, all in the same night.

Makes my writing and a bottle of water sound so dull.

Have you ever thought about writting a sports novel? Possibly about the Yankees? There should be a market for a good novel-even a series about baseball, magic, and coupled with intrigue and action.

Well, I did enjoy Field of Dreams 🙂 Hmmm, interesting idea. I don’t know if I’m a big enough baseball fan to do something like that. I think you’re right that it has potential, but I haven’t even been to a Yankees game in the regular season so let alone the playoffs. I’m trying to think if there have been many novels about sports and magic and at the moment the only one that comes to mind is Shoeless Joe. Oh, and wasn’t there one about a magic bat?
