The Light Of Burning Shadows gets a starred review in Publishers Weekly

This came as a pleasant surprise. All in all, a nice way to start the week 🙂

(you have to scroll about 2/3s down to read the review…if you’re interested)

In other news, I am finishing up the last of the questions sent to me by the Russian translator (honest, Kot, I’ll have them for you today!) for A Darkness Forged in Fire, and I’m close to finding out when the audio for Light of Burning Shadows will be available.

Makes it sound like people will be running into stores wearing ski masks and demanding the next book or else…hey, now there’s a viral marketing campaign!

      Hi, Kelly:

Thanks! So how crazy excited/nervous are you as your pub date approaches? Despite being in the business for seven plus years when my first one came out I was still a bundle of nerves.

      Cheers,

      Chris

Yep. A bundle of nerves and then some. Alternating between nervousness, disbelief, fear, excitement…it’s insane, but tempered by Book 2 edits. 😉

Just poking my head in to say a brief hello! 🙂 I was incredibly thrilled throughout reading book two. The first one was like getting acquainted with a new (slightly dysfunctional) family.
I must say, holy schmoley, I am so amazed by all this stuff with Alwyn, who somehow as early as his first appearance became my favorite character. I love the massive humor present all over those books. Yimt never ceases to make me laugh.

Thank you so much for these books!! Already looking forward to summer 2010!

      Hi, Katherine:

Poke away 🙂 Yes, the lads (and ladies) would definitely qualify as slightly dysfunctional. I suppose my view on the world, theirs and ours, is that everyone is a bit screwed up. Yimt and Alwyn are very fun to write, and for very different reasons. I’m glad they resonate with you.

      Cheers,

      Chris
