Rescued from ineptitude!

A huge, huge thanks to Giuliano at the Flemings Mayfair Hotel in London for calling Orbitz and getting everything straightened out for me. Now THAT’S customer service.

    Hi:

    I saw your complaint about Orbitz. I’m with Orbitz and might be able to help. Could you please send me your Orbitz locator number? I will be glad to research it for you.

    Sincerely;

    Custrelguy

      Hi. I appreciate the offer though its anonymous nature makes it difficult to determine its validity and usefulness, but after spending 48 hours trying and failing to get Orbitz to assist me I’ve called my hotel and airline direct and they appear (fingers crossed) to have settled the situation. Unlike Orbitz, they have sufficient staff both knowledgeable and available to help their customers. I understand you folks weren’t prepared for a volcano, but you might want to consider training staff to do more than tell customers how they can’t help them when situations like this do arise. Perhaps one of the many people who emailed me to tell me how they couldn’t help could have assisted me in setting up a time when someone capable of helping could have called. Simply repeating the mantra “call this number” when that number is clearly not answering is going to do little to encourage repeat business. I’m flying to Canada later this month, but at the moment it’s hard to see why I’d risk booking through Orbitz again. Feel free to convince me otherwise. I’ll keep an open mind.

      Cheers,

      Chris
