Title and release date for my next novel

My forthcoming novel will be called OF BONE AND THUNDER. It’s a fantasy set in a world with a medieval-like time frame, but with the mores, cultural upheaval, racial tensions, and drug use of the Vietnam War. Oh, and it has dragons, lots of dragons, which is something new for me. The release date is October 14, 2014, which is just under seven months away. I’ll be updating a lot as we get closer to publication including a big reveal of the cover.

Cheers!

Chris

And the winner of the leather-bound set of the Iron Elves is….

But first, a word from our sponsor, me 🙂 I really appreciate all the emails checking in to see how I was doing after Hurricane Sandy. I actually came through unscathed. My neighborhood suffered some fallen trees and assorted other minor damage, but that’s it. No flooding and no fires. We never even lost power. So I feel very fortunate in that regard. Honestly, the biggest travail I’ve dealt with is there were no muffins in the diner this morning because the bakery delivery truck couldn’t make it into the city.

And so, the winner of the leather-bound set.  As with all my giveaways, I print out everyone’s name on paper, cut them up, put them in a hat, and draw. Not exactly high tech, but it works.

Congratulations to Holly Martin of the USA!

Cheers,

Chris

Win a leather-bound set of the Iron Elves

Have I told you lately how much I lo- er, like you 🙂 Seriously, the emails and support I get from fans all over the globe is just spectacular. Writing can be a very isolating profession/obsession, so knowing you’re out there enjoying the adventures of the Iron Elves really means a lot to me. And so, I’d like to say thanks.

You may have noticed the secret tab on the site and wondered just what the heck was discovered in the Lost Library of Kaman Rahl. Well, turns out it was another leather-bound set of the Iron Elves series! These books have been hand-crafted by a skilled artisan steeped in the ancient wisdom of putting leather on, um, well, books 🙂 They are gorgeous. Seriously, they are stunning. And they are going to go to one lucky fan. (Details below the photo)

All you have to do to enter is enter. OK, slightly more involved than that, but not by much. First, this is open to anyone anywhere in the world. You can enter here by replying to this post, or on my http://www.facebook.com/pages/Chris-Evans-Iron-Elves/435233515470?ref=hl FaceBook page, or even my Twitter account. I am not going to make you jump through hoops, just your name and country of origin so that when the drawing is held we’ll know who won.

I’ll hold the drawing at the end of the month. Of course, if there’s a lot of interest I may have to go back into the library and see what else is hidden on the shelves.

Cheers!

The Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research was a huge success! And the winner of the leather-bound set of the Iron Elves is…

I want to thank everyone who donated and promoted my participation in this event. It’s a very worthy cause and I suspect everyone reading this knows someone who has been affected by cancer. Every little bit helps. The run itself was fantastic. It was a beautiful clear fall day in Central Park and there was a huge crowd. I ran as part of the Carleton University New York City alumni team (one of the two universities I attended in Canada).

And as promised, I am giving away a leather-bound set of the Iron Elves series. First, here’s what the set looks like:

And the winner is………………Sean Dunnage.

Congratulations, Sean. And again, thank you everyone who donated to such a good cause. I truly appreciate it!
