The World Cup is over, Lance Armstrong is too far back to win the Tour de France, and it’s summer. Nothing for it but to cancel my cable, get writing, and get out there. I’ve lived without television before and was much the better for it so I’ve decided to simplify my life and remove what is essentially a narcotic from my system. It won’t be completely cold turkey, however, as I do have the internet and Netflix, but they feel more controllable.

The book has been delayed (because it’s taking me longer than anticipated to write it) so it will now be publishing in July 2011.

Yesterday was Canada Day and Sunday is Independence Day here in the US so my arms will likely need a rest after all the flag waving. In other news, Brazil is out of the World Cup in a somewhat shocking upset to the Netherlands, it’s going to be 1,000 degrees in NYC this weekend, and I am going to spend a large portion of it in my air conditioned apartment writing…and watching the World Cup.
